Meet The Base Electric Team
Kane Gray - Owner Operator
Growing up in New Zealand, Kane started an electrical apprenticeship straight after graduating high school and was a fully qualified electrician by the age of 21. These qualifications allowed Kane to travel internationally, gaining electrical experience throughout the UK and Europe, while following his passions of surfing, snowboarding, skydiving and BASE jumping.
Kane arrived in BC after a lifetime of looking to Whistler as a snowboarding mecca. Settling first in Whistler and eventually Squamish, he expanded his experience working on high end custom homes, including Stonebridge and Kadenwood, and larger projects, such as the Audain Art Museum and a private high school in West Vancouver. Kane has ample experience working on multi residential and commercial projects throughout Squamish, as well as many small and large scale renovations and new builds. He is also highly skilled in service and maintenance work.
When not working, Kane enjoys spending time exploring, riding bikes and snowboarding with his family., which includes four children: three boys and one girl!
Kyra
Growing up in a small town in the Kootenays, it was essential to live by the ‘work hard, play hard’ moto. Although having passions in art, academia and the outdoors, I wanted a career right out of high school. So, I decided to begin my electrical apprenticeship. I spent the first couple years of my apprenticeship in northern BC and Alberta on multiple oil and gas sites.
With growing amounts of connections and opportunities I chose one which lead me to Squamish. Here I spent the next two years of my apprenticeship gaining a wide variety of residential experience along the sea to sky corridor. I now find myself with a career that is fast paced, requires me to use my intellect and creativity and most importantly, allows me to live in a place where I get to spend my free time in the mountains.
Tyler
Tyler entered the electrical trade in 2008 and gained certification as a Red Seal Journeyman in 2012. He has worked aspects in many sectors of the electrical industry; large hospital expansions, office towers, airports, all sizes of commercial, office and retail as well as residential.
Tyler grew up in Calgary but spent every free moment adventuring in the mountains of British Columbia. He has been an alpinist much longer than an electrician, rock climbing in the summer and exploring the back country on skis in the winter. After discovering Squamish on a climbing trip for the first time in 2010, the trips became more and more frequent and eventually Squamish became home.
